DRIVERS AND GENERAL WORKERS

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Driving & Logistics:

 

· Safely operate a 15ton truck to deliver machinery to clients, ensuring all loads are secured according to legal requirements.

 

· Drive a bakkie or light vehicle for parts collection, deliveries, or support of engineering and workshop teams.

 

· Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to road safety regulations.

 

Workshop Support:

 

· Assist in the workshop with cleaning, preparing, and organizing machinery.

 

· Help with light mechanical tasks where capable, including inspections and minor maintenance.

 

· Ensure all tools, equipment, and machines are stored and maintained correctly.

 

Load Handling & Safety:

 

· Assist with loading and unloading machines safely, using lifting equipment when licensed (forklift/crane) or coordinating with other trained personnel.

 

· Ensure all cargo is correctly secured to prevent accidents or damage.

 

· Comply with all occupational health and safety regulations in workshop and during transport.

 

Administrative Duties:

 

· Complete delivery logs, transport documentation, and workshop checklists.

 

· Report any vehicle or machinery issues to management promptly.

 

Working Conditions:

 

· Work performed in both workshop and on-road environments.

 

· May involve physically demanding tasks, including lifting, loading, and securing machinery.

 

· Standard working hours with occasional overtime, travel, or early starts depending on deliveries.

 

Requirements:

 

· Code 10 (C1) driver’s license and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP – Goods).

 

· Own transport and valid driver’s license.

 

· Experience driving trucks and/or bakkies safely.

 

· Knowledge of load securing, heavy machinery handling, and road safety compliance.

 

· Physically fit and able to perform workshop support tasks.

 

· Mechanically inclined or experience in workshop assistance is an advantage.

 

· Forklift or crane license is a plus but not essential.

 

· Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

 

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
